Florence Whartonhas lived in Langhorne Borough since 1974. Her family settled in Trevose, Bucks County. Florence's involvement in community activities includes the award of Langhorne Borough as a Historic District to the National Register of Historic Places with 309 parcels. As a member of the Langhorne Borough Planning Commission she was involved in inter-municipal tasks that included examination and update of ordinances, revision of the Comprehensive Plan and municipal reviews of land development. As a Founding Member of Langhorne Open Space, Inc. now a Land Trust she worked in visioning, fundraising and many public programs. She was a contributor to researching and successfully applyin for 2 PA State Markers: Revolutionary War Burial Site and Mollie Woods Hare, founder of Woods Services, Inc. She corroborated research and photographic assistance to Carolyn Weekly, Colonial Williamsburg Foundation with “Kingdoms of Edw. Hicks” in 1999 and Kathleen Zingaro Clark for “Images of America: Bucks County” in 2006. She is a member of Bucks County Historical Society, Historic Langhorne Assoc., Inc. and Four Lanes End Garden Club.
